01
Tumor Knowledge Popularization

A tumor(also spelled tumour)is an abnormal mass that forms when cells in a specific area of the body begin to grow uncontrollably due to disrupted normal regulatory processes.

Simply put,a tumor is new tissue growth caused by abnormal cell proliferation.

Tumors fall into two main categories:

Benign tumors grow slowly, usually expand rather than invade, have well-defined boundaries, and generally are not life-threatening.Malignant tumors, commonly known as cancer, grow rapidly, invade nearby tissues, and can spread to other parts of the body through the blood or lymphatic system. These tumors pose a serious threat to health and life.

Tumor Experts Speak

In December 2024,Professor LüYouyong,a senior professor at Peking University Cancer Hospital and former director of the Molecular Oncology Laboratory at the Beijing Institute for Cancer Prevention and Treatment, appeared on the People’s Daily Health platform to discuss the application of hydrogen-oxygen therapy in oncology.

Professor LüYouyong explains that hydrogen molecules can help neutralize excess harmful reactive oxygen species(ROS)and free radicals in the body.In oncology care,hydrogen-based therapies have shown strong supportive and complementary benefits, particularly during cancer recovery and rehabilitation. At the Expert and Media Symposium on Advances in Hydrogen-Oxygen Medical Research,Professor Lüdelivered a keynote address titled“Achieving the Goals of Slowing Premature Aging and Effectively Preventing and Treating Cancer.”In his talk,he offered an in-depth overview of how hydrogen-oxygen therapy may play a role in healthy aging as well as cancer prevention and management.
